A focused editor for small corrections in text-based PDFs.
PDF Text Editor is an independent web utility built for people who need to replace a limited amount of existing text and can review the output themselves.
The problem we solve
PDF is excellent for distributing a finished page but inconvenient when the source document is unavailable and one name, date, label, or sentence needs correction. The editor detects positioned text blocks, lets the user replace a block, and produces a new PDF without requiring an account.
The product is intentionally narrower than a full document suite. It does not add OCR, rebuild complex paragraph flow, edit images, change forms, or promise perfect recovery of every embedded font.
What files are supported
The input must be a text-based PDF no larger than 10 MB or 50 pages. Scans, encrypted PDFs, interactive forms, embedded files, JavaScript, and selected active content are not supported. Text that has been converted to vector outlines is not editable as text.
A file can be technically accepted while one unusual block remains unavailable. The preview and exported result must be inspected; the original should always be preserved.
How files are handled
The browser sends the PDF to a Cloud Run backend over HTTPS. During the active workflow, file bytes are held in volatile application memory. They are removed after the edited file is generated, or expire after at most about ten minutes if the workflow is abandoned.
The service does not intentionally write uploaded PDFs to a persistent document database or storage bucket. Infrastructure can still process limited request metadata needed for security, reliability, and rate limiting. Sensitive or regulated documents should use an approved organizational workflow.
Who builds and reviews the site
The software and documentation are maintained under the PDF Text Editor product name. The “Editorial Team” byline identifies this product process; it is not a claim of legal, records-management, typography, or cybersecurity certification.
Guidance is reviewed against actual application limits and backend behavior. We use direct, bounded claims and correct documentation when it diverges from the software.
Business model and independence
The core editor currently does not require an account or charge an editing fee. Future availability is not guaranteed “forever,” and service limits may change to maintain security and reliability.
The site may display clearly labeled advertising when eligible. Advertising does not decide which files are accepted, alter edited output, or control editorial conclusions.
